This plein air painting was commissioned to be a gift in memory of a dear couple's daughter. This beach house view in Ocean Isle Beach, NC was one of her favorites. The photo below was taken when I was a little over an hour into it. I worked at the same time of day for three days to finish. One of those days the sunset actually was the beautiful color that I captured in the painting.

Serendipity is the name of a beach house at Ocean Isle Beach, NC that belongs to my nephew-in-law's parents (say that three times real fast). His mother is pictured below and she graciously let me paint from the back balcony for a couple of days. This body of water is referred to as a creek and it leads to the Intracoastal Waterway.
