"Rusted Roof" SOLD

After much preparation I've finally begun... painting "en plein air!" That's a French expression which means "in the open air" and it's used to describe the act of painting outdoors. This is one of my first plein air paintings and, even with some inherent challenges, I really enjoyed the experience!

It looks like I was deep in the wilderness. But, as the photo below reveals, I actually stumbled across this scene on the outskirts of a brand new housing development. Also, compare the colors in this photo to how I saw and painted them. You can clearly see one of the limitations of working from photos.
